Bus Trip to Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum, BaltimoreFRIDAY, August 8: $40 per personThe B&O Railroad Museum is recognized universally as the birthplace of American railroading. It was here within the Museum's 40-acre campus that Baltimore surveyors and engineers set about building the B&O Railroad in 1829, laying the first commercial long-distance track, building the first passenger station, and inventing America's unique railroad. Nearly 200 pieces of locomotives and rolling stock provide illustrate railroading from 1830 through the present day. The museum also displays tools, time-pieces, fine art, RR china and silver, uniforms, furniture, and personal memorabilia as well as a collection of scale models and toy trains illustrate. The B&O tour will take you through the magnificent Roundhouse, North Car
Shop, & Mt. Clare Station. You will see how the B&O Railroad spawned an
industrial revolution, survived civil and world wars and brought about a Museum
collection that contains some of the first, last, best, and only pieces of their
kind. The tour's train ride is on Mile one of the old B&O line. Lunch is on your own at the museum cafe. Agenda
